Pere Tumbas Hajo (Subotica, 29. juni 1891. – 5. marta 1967.) je bio legendarni tamburaš, kompozitor, muzički aranžer i pedagog iz Subotice. Proslavio se svojim sviranjem na tamburici. Tokom svog umetničkog rada je upravljao tamburaškim orkestrom Radio Beograda (od 1938.). Njegov bogati i raznoliki autorski opus od preko 120 dela obuhvata kola, koračnice, pesme, a i aranžirao je brojne kompozicije, a celokupni opus je u duhu muzičkog nasleđa bačkih bunjevaca. Zaslužan je i kao učitelj novostvorenih tamburaških orkestara, kao što je onaj od HKPD-a Matija Gubec iz Tavankuta. O njemu je subotički reditelj Rajko Ljubič snimio 2006. dokumentarni i portret film “Pere Tumbas Hajo-muzika je bila njegov govor”. Pavao Bačić je posle napisao i monografiju o Peri Tumbasu Haji, Pere Tumbas Hajo – umetnik tamburice. Nagrade i priznanja: Pobeda na međunarodnom folklornom festivalu 1952. u Llangolenu u Walesu.

Pere Tumbas – Hajo (1891-1967), conductor, composer, and the famous tamburitza player, was very active in Subotica, which was his birthplace. His greatest success was the sensational triumph at the “International folklore festival” in Langolen in England in 1952, where his reduced 4 member orchestra (normally 7 players) and 8 dancers won the first prize, among 16 best folklore groups of the world (including the Russian balalayka group and Spanish flamenco players). The Croatian Tamburitza society from Pittsburgh performed throughout the USA many songs arranged or composed by Hajo. In the journal The Tamburitzan, directed by Walter Kolar (Pittsburgh), Hajo has been represented as the most famous tamburitzan.
